Belvedere School of Motoring was founded in 1970 by Rose Spencer. She ran the business along with her husband Ken and then latterly with her
son Kenneth. More than 1000 people have been helped to pass their test since
the business started. This also includes teaching three local driving
instructors, one of whom has become a driving examiner.
Rose has now retired and Kenneth has continued to run the driving school
single-handed. His speciality is mature students, who mostly learn on the
automatic car. He has also had a great deal of success with students who have
previously been unsuccessful at passing their driving tests with other
instructors.
Sometimes there is
not a good match between the pupil and their
instructor, and as a result learning easily is
sometimes difficult. Possibly the instructor’s
method of teaching or their communication skills are
not in tune with the pupil’s needs. Our aim is to
assess the pupil’s needs and requirements and use
methods that match those needs and requirements so
as to enhance the learning experience.
Kenneth is continually updating his skills to better serve his students.
He is currently studying a distance learning Diploma course about Coaching
in Business from Newcastle College. He is also a member of both the Motor Schools Association and the Federation of Small Businesses.
